Yes! You can access most of our databases and other electronic resources, such as ebooks, off-campus with your SMU ID and password.

  1. Start on the SMU Libraries homepage.
  2. In the blue search box, type in your search words. You can use the dropdown to select the type of resource you are looking for.

Databases

Click the Databases A-Z button underneath the search box to see a complete list of databases and find the best databases for your subject. Once you follow a link to a database, you’ll be prompted for your SMU ID and password.

Articles

Select Articles from the drop-down in the blue search box and enter your keywords or the title of the article. You will be prompted for your SMU ID and password before you can access the article.

E-Books

Select Books & More in the drop-down and enter keywords or the book's title in the search box.

Refine your results using the Availability "Available Online" and Resource Type "Books" filters.
