Yes, you can request materials from other libraries or scans of articles and book chapters from SMU Libraries through our Interlibrary Loan service. They will be sent to you as a PDF. Sign in to Interlibrary Loan to place a request. Or, select "Request from Another Institution" from the item record in Library Search (you must be signed in with your SMU ID and password to see this option). This link will take you to our Interlibrary Loan system and prefill the form for you to request.
