Fondren Library remains open during the construction of the Rees-Jones Library, but some areas will be very loud. Our Main Desk staff can guide you to quieter study spaces within the library or other libraries on campus. Earplugs are also available at supply stations throughout the library.

Learning Commons, 1st Floor

The Prothro Learning Commons will be renovated this summer, with work expected to be completed mid-July.

  • Computers will be temporarily removed from the Commons beginning May 22. Additional computers are on the 2nd Floor.
  • Furniture will be removed beginning June 5.
  • The Commons and study rooms 101, 103, and 108 will be closed June 12 to July 8.
  • The 109 and 110 classrooms and elevators will remain open.

Road Closure

McFarlin Blvd. and Robert S. Hyer Lane will be closed May 19-August 8. Curbside pickup will be unavailable during this time.

Current Noise Level

Construction noise is from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will be no to very low noise at all other times.
