You may hear some Friends of SMU Libraries refer to us as Colophon. This was our name when Friends was founded in 1970! The word colophon originally referred to the bibliographic information printed at the end of a book. The term is now used almost exclusively for the publisher’s device commonly printed on the title-page and the spine of the cover jacket.
