Q. How can I get or purchase a copy of an SMU thesis?

If you are the author of the thesis or dissertation, we can digitize it for you free of charge. Authors may request a digital copy of their thesis/dissertation by contacting the Norwick Center for Digital Solutions at ncds@smu.edu. 

If you are not the author, search the Dissertations and Theses database. Some SMU theses and dissertations, especially recent ones, are available for purchase. 

Recent SMU Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs) may also be available digitally through SMU Scholar, our institutional repository. You can search for, view, and download ETDs by browsing the school's disciplines or by searching for specific authors, titles, or keywords.

If you are not affiliated with SMU, you can borrow most of our theses through Interlibrary Loan at your university or local public library. We cannot scan or photocopy theses without the author's permission due to copyright restrictions.
