Q. Does SMU hold the film archives of WFAA and can they be researched remotely?

I am hoping to find out if there are any news stories dating as far back as 1965 when Johnny Cash was arrested for drug possession in El Paso or even earlier when the Big D Jamboree was broadcasting musical performances from the Dallas Sportatorium.

We have 16mm WFAA news film and other local TV materials from the 1960s and 1970s in the Jones Film and Video Collection at the Hamon Arts Library, but these films are not searchable online. For more information see the Jones Film and Video Collection page.
